Good question, thanks for asking. We have one of the largest collections of original, rare and collectible sheet music in the country, if not the world.
We have a library of thousands of individual song titles dating from the early 1800s to the present day. We frame them and repurpose them as unique pieces of music memorabilia.
They are completely bespoke and unique gifts for any occasion and are the perfect statement piece of art for any room in your home.
Long before streaming and CDs and records and tapes and radio, if you wanted to listen to a piece of music you would have to buy the manuscript in the form of a sheet and play it at home if you owned a piano. And could read music.
For about a hundred years from the early 1800s to the advent of radio and recording, sheet music would have been the primary source of listening to contemporary and Classical pieces of music.
On the inside it was but the covers were designed to be eye catching in order to promote the songs in much the same way as record sleeves would later be used. For many decades sheet music was at the very forefront of design, illustration, graphics and printing They were beautifully illustrated by the top artists of the day as a means to gaining the largest possible audience. Each piece is an individual representation of a particular song.
Not at all, as music became more accessible through radio, records and television, music groups sprung up everywhere. For every Sinatra, Elvis and The Beatles there were hundreds of artists all wanting to perform the popular songs of the day and the way they did that was through sheet music.
You can buy an original, framed and ready to hang piece of musical history from as little as £10. For more collectable items prices can run into several hundreds of pounds but generally speaking a ball park figure would be around £30-£50 for a rare and unique piece of music memorabilia. All items are individually priced, so please ask. We have tried to give as many examples as possible throughout this website but with items coming and going all the time it would be nigh on impossible to list everything, never mind posting photos as well.
We have so many individual items that it would be impossible to list them all. If you have a specific artist or song in mind, drop us a message, if we haven't got it we will do our best to find it for you.
Yes, all of our items are 100% guaranteed original. It is impossible to fake that age, wear, tear and patina.
All of our items are individually inspected and assessed by our experienced repairs team. We aim to present our product in as original a state as possible. Sometimes we will carefully tape loose pages back in place so that they keep their shape in the frame and return folded corners back to their original position. Although pristine condition pieces are usually the most sought after by collectors and can fetch exorbitant prices, there is something about the personalisation of a lot of the more affordable items which really add to a fascinating sense of their history and uniqueness. The hole punch craze of the 1970s did the sheet music collector no favours but our repair team painstakingly colour match the missing chad for restoration and aesthetic purposes. In some cases we have the same titles of different condition and they are priced accordingly, so please just ask.
Generally speaking they come in three sizes; small, medium and large. From the earliest Victorian pieces through to the 1940s sheet music was printed in a large format. The rationing during and after the second world war led to a reduction in size, a trend which continued until the 1980s when a larger format was reintroduced.
All of our sheet music is individually framed behind glass with an elegant matte black frame as standard. After much research we have found that a simple black frame makes every single image 'pop' and we have found a reliable and reasonably priced supplier which really helps us keep our prices affordable. We do carry a few options in stock and we would be more than happy helping you find a bespoke frame if you would prefer something even more unique. Get in touch and let us know, we love nothing more than talking about music.
Our business model is based upon selling framed works of art but yes you, we can offer that option. Simply let us know what song title or artist you are looking for and we will do our best to find the perfect item for you.
We will always provide you with the best possible prices, we would be delighted to help you if you want a theme or collection for your home or business.
I wouldn't suggest investing your pension in it but it has become an increasingly sort-after form of music memorabilia and in recent years prices have sky rocketed. In most cases they cost more than the actual record as there are far fewer of them. Certain Beatles titles for example have recently sold at auction for several hundreds of pounds.
We would be inclined to say that they make the perfect gift. Give us a few ideas and we guarantee that we will find the perfect item.
We will send you an invoice through SumUp, just the same as tapping on a card reader. it's all very straightforward but if you would rather do a bank transfer or send a Postal Order we would be happy to oblige.
We use Royal Mail 48hr Tracked. It is by far the most secure and cost effective service available. It is insured and tracked from our door to yours and costs £3.50
We are so certain that you will be totally happy with your purchase that we offer a 100% no quibble 28 day refund policy. We will keep you updated every step of the way with photographs of the actual item you are buying as we frame it up, package and send it to you but if you are in any way dissatisfied please don't hesitate to contact us and we will try and sort it out, we would much rather add you to our growing list of happy customers.
No, we don't have a shop although you can find us on GoogleMaps. We are based in Brighton and regularly trade at various antique, collectors and music fairs in the South East so do come and say hello. Alternatively, if you are local and would like to make an appointment for a private viewing please get in touch and hopefully we will be able to arrange something.
No problem, I was here anyway. If you think of anything else, please don't hesitate to ask.
